The Chicago Fire Soccer team is an American professional soccer club in the Chicago suburb of Bridgeview, Illinois.The team plays in Major League Soccer (MLS).

The team was named for the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. The Team was founded on October 8, 1997.

This date is also reflective of the Fires 126th anniversary.

So this team definitely pays tribute to the history of Chicago, and we are so proud of them and their name.

The team has a very loyal fan base along with all the other professional sports teams in Chicago.

In June 11, 2006 this soccer team finally had a stadium of their own when Toyota Park was completed.It was built for about $100 million, so you can imagine what this place looks like. As you can see the city doesn’t hold back when it comes to the size of it’s stadiums.

The Toyota Park stadiums capacity is 20,000. The playing field is grass.

The Toyota Park also hosts concerts and other sports events.

This Chicago soccer team has been very successful in their championship efforts.

    • In their first season in 1998, the Fire won the MLS Cup as well as the U.S. Open Cup.
  • U.S. Open Cup wins in 2000, 2003, and 2006.

The 2010 season was disappointing as the team failed to make the playoffs for just the second time in 13 seasons.

The Chicago Fire Soccer regular season schedule is from March to October. The 2013 schedule is from January to October.
