Chicago Fishing Charters – Enjoy A Day On The Lake

You can catch Chicago fishing charters right off of the lakefront.

Not only is Lake Michigan known for it’s outdoor recreational water activities, but there are plenty of boating going on here also.

These Charters provide you with fishing adventures trips.

You can even go further up the lake and take one of the many other Lake Michigan charters outside of Chicago if you wish.

There are specialized Salmon Fishing Charters available.

Did you know that Lake Michigan has the largest sport fishery on the Great Lakes?

There are Trout, Salmon, Walleye, and Small mouth Bass fisheries that are world class.

Almost 100 species of fish have been recorded in Lake Michigan. It also has whitefish, steel head, and yellow perch fisheries.

These Charters are a great way to enjoy Lake Michigan Fishing at it’s fullest.

In April, May, and June, greater numbers of fish are caught. You can expect to catch mostly Coho Salmon and King Salmon, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout which is also known as Steelhead.

In July, August, and September the bigger King Salmon, also known as Chinook salmon, and the feisty Rainbow trout are there for the catching.

In October Lake Trout are a good size, and mostly found on the reefs.

At ice-out, each group of fish breaks away from the wintering pack and heads north along their particular underwater trail.

If you’re interested you can try some Ice Fishing.

The fish born in western tributaries begin a slow cycle up the Illinois shore to arrive off Chicago,, and Waukegan in early June.

The Coho caught here are young and averaging less than two pounds.

Chinooks will sometimes be over 25 pounds and are among the smaller Coho’s.

If you’re an avid fisher, or just ready to try your hand at some Great Lake fishing, you’ll have an interesting fishing experience

For fishing you will need: Licenses, Cameras and or video recorders, food and beverages, sunglasses and sunscreen, Coolers so you can bring your catch home, wear appropriate footwear such as soft-soled shoes, rain gear, and warm clothing in layers especially if it’s cold.
