The John Hancock Building Chicago’s First Tallest Building Has Remarkable Outdoor Views

The John Hancock Building was built in 1970. It was the world’s first mixed-use high-rise and it’s on Chicago’s Lakeshore.

The building Height is 1,127 ft and it has 100 stories. The structure has X-shaped external bracings.

This unique architectural design makes it look taller than it really is.

It’s design concept allows only five to eight inches of sway in a 60mph wind gust.

The building was tested to withstand winds of 132 miles-per-hour.

This building can be a place for corporate or private events.

The Observatory is on the 94 level and it gives you 360 degree views.

The outer part of the building has high-density black aluminum contrasts with 11,459 extra-thick, glare-proof, bronze glass window panes.

There are interactive telescopes.

It has Chicago’s only open air sky walk where you will be exposed to the fresh air up high.

There is a cafe 1000 feet above with a variety of Italian coffees from Lavazza Espression café.

This cafe serves fresh Italian foods and drinks of all kinds.

It also has fun foods and drinks for children.

You can also enjoy the Signature Room at the 95th Floor where you can dine and see a skyline view of the city and lake shore from above.
