Chicago Is Anyone’s Kind Of Town With One Of A Kind Attractions

Have You Ever Been To Six Flags Great America

If you’re going on a vacation to Chicago, Six Flags Great America has been a spring and summer getaway for many people. People tend to come here every year with their family, and friends to have a good time in the warm weather. It’s the biggest and most popular theme park in Illinois. It’s a great escape for everyone to get some theme park therapy.

They have adult and children’s rides spaced all over the park. There are plenty of specialty shops here, foods and snacks that you won’t be able to pass up.

You can ride the thrilling rides and the get all splashed up in Hurricane Harbor.

Try your hand at one of these games, and you may be leaving with lots of furry friends.

If you’re a lucky person you can win the huge stuffed animals, and other prizes.

My family has a full collection of stuffed animals from this place!

The park has shows, concerts and festivals all summer long. You can have a lot of fun here.

As soon as you walk into this place you know that you’re in for a good time.

Here’s a list of some of the great rides that thrill seekers like me have enjoyed.

This list is by no means exhaustive, and when you get here you’ll see what I’m talking about.

These rides are named after the experience the rides are intended to give you.

So if you like heights, and speed then you have come to the right place.

Of course there are plenty of rides for the little ones.

When my family comes here we wear good shoes, and are prepared to spend the entire day just having fun, and getting away from it all. The American Eagle is one of the famous and classic rides at Six Flags. It’s been in the park for 25 years, and is a classic wooden racing coaster.

When people come here they make it a priority to get on this classic coaster.

As you go up on this ride to take your massive dip, you’ll hear the sound of the coaster climbing up the wooden incline, and then down you’ll go. There’s nothing else like it!

If you like super heroes watch out because you can experience what it would like to be them! The park has plenty of different rides named after them here.

For instance the BATMAN THE RIDE which is a favorite of mine will allow you to fly across the air like Batman. This coaster was the world’s first inverted, and outside-looping coaster. It travels 50 mph and is over 12 stories high. Just imagine the site of this coaster in person.

The Viper is another favorite. It’s a cyclone style wooden roller coaster that will lift you 10 stories up and give you an 80 foot drop.

There’s the Superman: Ultimate Flight ride which goes up and soars you head first through a twisted steel track like superman.

There’sVertical Velocity, a suspended twisting roller coaster that stands more than 18 stories high that shoots riders up to 70mph in only seconds.

The Condor goes up 112 feet into the sky and will spin you to the ground. The Dare Devil Dive will allow you to free fall from 12.5 stories.

The Giant Drop climbs 200 feet into the sky and drops you into a free fall experience. There’s the Chubasco where you will spin and twirl in a Western-style pottery cup.

I’ve enjoyed all these rides at the Six Flags, and theme parks have definitely come a long way since I was a kid.

The children’s rides will delight, and thrill your kids. My kids run around with crazy excitement in this place, and they always remember some of their summer fun from here.

So when your kids run around, and tell you which ride they want to go on next it may be hard to keep up with them, so please wear comfortable shoes!

The rides are height and age appropriate, so no one will be left out.

If you want to take a break and just chill The Great America Scenic Railwayis a railroad that will take you on a 15-minute ride of the park.

It’s also will give you a break from walking, and give your legs a chance to rest!

If you plan on coming here more than once it’s best to get a season pass as it’ll save you plenty of money.

Also if you don’t like to wait in lines for your favorite rides then purchasing a Flash Pass can allow you to skip long lines.

The park is located north of Chicago in the suburb of Gurnee and is open May through October.
